The Board of Directors

Born in 1969, Ömer Mert graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and subsequently completed his master’s degree in Engineering Management at the same faculty.

After beginning his professional career in the insurance sector in 1993 and holding various positions at different companies, he served as Executive Vice President at Fortis Emeklilik ve Hayat A.Ş. between 2003 and 2005, and at Garanti Emeklilik ve Hayat A.Ş. between 2005 and 2012.

Between 2012 and 2017, Mert served as a Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager at Fiba Emeklilik ve Hayat A.Ş., and since January 2017 he has been serving as a Member of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fibabanka A.Ş. In addition to these roles, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Finberg Araştırma Geliştirme Danışmanlık Yatırım Hizmetleri A.Ş.; Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Fiba Portföy Yönetimi A.Ş.; Member of the Board of Directors at Fiba Sigorta A.Ş. and HDI Fiba Emeklilik ve Hayat A.Ş.; Auditor Member of the Board of Directors at the Banks Association of Türkiye; and Member of the Board of Directors and Head of the Economy and Finance Roundtable at TÜSİAD.
