What types of orders are available on Borsa Market?

There are 3 types of orders:

  • Limit Orders (LO): A limit order is a normal order, in which the price and the amount are specified. Unless the unfulfilled part of the order is processed, the order is kept as a liability in the system until the end of its validity period (unless it is entered as a Fill and Kill order).
  • Market Orders: A market order is an order that is entered with the specification of only the amount and without the specification of the price. These orders are processed and executed by matching the best priced orders on the counter side until the order amount is fulfilled. This order type can only be entered as a Fill and Kill order; therefore, when there is no order left to match on the counter side, the remaining portion of the order is automatically canceled and is not entered as a liability. In the opening and closing sections and the single price method; the market orders, which are entered at the order collection stage, are kept pending in the order book until the matching starts, whereupon they are processed and executed. Any market order that is not executed as a transaction is not transferred to the continuous trading or subsequent single price section of the session, and is canceled. Market orders are subject to a maximum order volume limit on share basis. Such limit amount is calculated on the basis of last transaction price. If there is no last transaction price, reference is made to the previous closing price. In the cases, where both of them are not available; reference is made to the price entered manually by the Exchange, if applicable, and if that is not applicable, the system does not allow market order entries until a transaction takes place.
  • Market To Limit Order: Similarly to market orders, a market-to-limit order is an order that is entered with the specification of only the amount and without the specification of the price. However, the portion that is not executed as a transaction, adopts the last transaction price and transforms into a limit order and is moved to the order book as a pending order.
